|
|
Several years ago I saw a fishing show that had kayaks with peddles operated by foot power. I thought, GREAT, but it was not until today that I actually saw them being used by a couple of people in the river.
The ones on the t.v. show allowed for paddling or peddling. If someone got in to SHALLOW water, they push the pedals all the way forward and the two fins would flush up against the kayak.
Does any of this make sense? If so, do they sell such in this area?
Thanks for the help. |

| Those are Hobie Kayaks with the Mirage Drive System..... Depending on the model, they run $1399 - $2199. Thats pretty much the standard price on them anywhere you go. |

Hey Gib, they most assuredly have those yaks at Jerry B's here in the Bluff. Give Bluffer a shout on this board. He has a peddal yak, and loves it. Hook " Em, Osolonghorn |

| I have a Hobie Outback, it's Great and I get a lot of comments on it!! Can't say anything bad about it at all. Then again, this is the only kayak I've owned. The pedal system is great up to about 10ish inches of water, then paddle-paddle into probably 5 inches. It's stable, holds tons of stuff and has four rod holders. I bought mine a few years back from John at the Corpus Christi Sailing Center downtown. Happy Yakking! |

Thanks for the information.
When I do get kayaks,I am going for the mirage system or something like it. I did not realize the price; therefore, I will be wating a little longer.
Take care,

I think I remember a few pics of you drinking a beverage while peddling last year. I could use a kayak like that. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |
