I'm thinking about taking my boys to Goose Island SP.
It's been well over tweenty years ago that my grandparents took me. I don't rember but isn't there a pier the boys could fish from and any chance of them catching much? |

There are plenty of places to fish besides the Goose island pier which alone is a good place but you have shoreline areas and the Copano bridge. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| Pretty good fishing from the pier inside the park. My boys always enjoyed it. |

| I have seen some good fish get caught off the pier there, but like ironmanstan said, there are other places you can fish, good luck |

| I have been going there all my life, actually back in th 50s & 60s my grandmothers brother was the park ranger there. What an awesome place! Trout fishing on the "hump" on the pier. It usually gets pretty crowded on the hump at nite. Also all the way out for the best big drum fishing. All kinds of wade fishing opportunities abound. The waterfront road out in front of Lamar is easy wading, solid sand bottom with gradual slope out to the grass line. Wading out off the pier towards Blackjack point is pretty rough wading, mostly oyster reefs and gutty but mighty good fishing. Whatever you decide, the boys should thoroughly enjoy. Take the bikes if possible and mosquito spray just in case, when they are bad, THEY ARE BAD. Enjoy..........cC |
