Wednesday three friends and I paddled out to structure offshore of PINS, and the fishing was insane. Crystal visibility, lots of sharks, more kings than we could handle, and plenty of snapper too. Kings were shooting out of the water attacking bait, and a few times we watched sharks savaging other fish on the surface. It was fishing that is usually limited to dream time, but this happened while we were completely awake and cameras were rolling. What a cool morning on the water!

I have a longer video coming Tuesday that will feature lots of action of all sorts, but here is a nice shark (one of four that bit the hooks) misbehaving and finally getting released:

The big gal below was the highlight of my morning. Over eight feet long, she fought hard but finally came up beside the kayak and I cut her loose. Cool stuff!

Tod Johnson carries a DSLR in his kayak (people say I'm the crazy one) and he breaks it out for some great photos. Without him I'd just be telling fish stories!
