I have been eagerly waiting for the surf to clear out, but I didn't know it had, until this morning. I arrived around 9:00 this morning, not to fish, but to spend some much needed time with the Lord. I was astounded at the clarity of the water. On the end of the south packery jetty I could see down at least 10 feet or more. I asked someone if any smacks or Kings were caught this morning, but they said they didn't see anyone really fishing at the end. I wonder if many folks like myself didn't expect it. The guy I was speaking too did say that these two boats marked "SURVEY" on the side were getting in the way of the fishing. He explained that both boats would start at the very end of the jetty and cruise inland really close to the rocks. He said they weren't fishing, but they were driving so close, that you wouldn't be able to even fish. While I was walking around, one of the boats marked "Naismith Marine Services" sure enough was hugging the rocks, making it impossible to fish, if I had my tackle. I did see one family with a nice sized smack that was caught in the surf north of Packery. I'm thankful the surf is looking good, at least until next week. [/list]
