I usually go with Deep Sea Headquarters. But Dolphin Docks does a good job too.
DSH offers 8 hr. trips most days as well as 5 hr. trips in the afternoon. They do a 12 hr trip on Wednesday.
Good luck .... get those snaps while you can |

Try Pirates on the Bay, Capt. Doug Stanford @ 361-523-9452, he will give you the choice of bay or offshore.
Another option is Rob Klein @ 361-244-6946.
Want to go cheaper, try one of the party boats, out of Port Aransas. They do a great job of putting people on fish at a good price compared to a private charter. Deep Sea Headquarters, is my personal favorite, but they all do a very good job of putting you on the fish.
Private & Party charters will both put you on fish. When on a party boat you will be out for the length of time of booked trip, i.e.: 8 - 12 hours, if you get sick the trip does not turn around. Private, the captain will turn around, but don't expect a discount.
Good luck to you & family. Enjoy! _________________ "I do hunt and I do fish and I do not apologize to anyone that I hunt and fish." - Norman Schwarzkopf |

Thanks for the info...I have also had good luck with DSH. Would love to share a charter with a few others someday. In lieu of that, I have about $ 150.00 max as my budget ! |

There are no snaps in off the Texas coast. Nothing to see here. Move along. THE red snapper is an endangered species. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain...... |

Right......... Same thing in Florida! Sure are abundant for being so "threatened"!
I have fished with DSH twice, and had a great time. I will have to add though..... Both trips left the docks 12-15 minutes late, but were back in the barn EXACTLEY on time! That ain't cool.... _________________ Dave

Getting a head boat loaded is in the same category as herding cats. |

Yes, especially when they wait for those who get stuck across the channel waiting on a ferry. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Y'all say what you will. I have been out on headboats in Ft. pierce (twice) and Destin, 6 trips on the last. They leave the dock at the advertised time and are back in the slip at the advertized time. On my last trip in Destin, 15-20 minutes of everyone else's fishing time was wasted when one tinhorn hooked a BIG something right at the "lines up" horn. That line was finally cut, and the captain added that much time to the trip for the rest of us. THAT is a good boat!!!! 95% plus of those going shouldn't have their fishing trip cut short because one dillweed can't read, set and alarm clock, or just hit the road early enough!
Heck, they all ask that you be there 45 to 30 minutes early, so, even with the ins and outs of the PA ferry, no sympathy here!!! _________________ Dave

I can't say enough good things about DSH. I have gone with several other outfits in Port A and elsewhere. My experience with the DSH guys was hands down the best. Last time I went was a 12 hour Wednesday trip. Can't wait to do it again!

You ain't getting away with it! I read it for my self. And I quote; "I have fished with DSH twice, and had a great time".

Never-mind. Carry on! |
