every year.... people take trout to weigh in that don't have a snowball's chance in hell at winning. If you want to keep a big trout and eat it, this isn't the thread to debate. Fry it, blacken it to your heart's content.


But if you're keeping a 30" 7.5 lb (or even an 8lb) trout, when there are already 9-10 lbr's on the leader board.... possibly think for a moment that it's a total waste. You don't keep the fish, and you killed a fish that had no chance of winning. If you're pursuing a STAR trout, check the leaderboard frequently before you start dragging in 29" snakes to the weigh in.
