This was during that super strong topwater bite we were having about 2 weeks ago? This fish hit when the bite was dying down and I was trying to snag one more before my 8am class. It goes without saying I was a bit late to that class lol. Thought it was cool to catch it from shore. Heard some other people caught some big ones that day on live bait.

I know most of you guys have caught bigger but I was super excited to catch this. Sorry about the language but excitement ya know? I edited out some of the "spicier" language.

Thanks for checking it out.

That sure was a fat girl. It was also cool hearing your breathing get faster and deeper as the more excited you got. Good job!

Very nice. Work on the car and hooking a good fish can bring on some colorful language from me.

Great catch and release! However, I was surprised you released it. BTW, on the effect of the "dolphins" the jury is still out. Some of us have experienced them totally screwing the bit up, and I've read at least theory they help find the fish. In my case I've had at least one try to attack my stringer, but when I pulled it near me the "dolphin" almost hit me in the chest! Keep up the good catching!

Haha yeah my dad has told me stories of stringer stealing dolphins. I've yet to have it happen to me though.

I have done so well in that area over the years. Great memories fishing over there as a student at TAMUCC. NICE trout. Fat girl for sure.

Nice work. Fatty for Sure. Did you measure it? looks close to 25 or 26.

Dolphins can be a sign that you are fishing the right area. I've had times where the bite continued and I've had times when the bite died entirely. They are not always reliable sign, but can be if all the other circumstances are in place. Flipper has gotten bad about eating throwbacks ... pretty smart though and they seem smug about it. Don't tie your stringer to you, push the point end into a scabbard or something that you can pull out quickly in case flipper or the grey suit decides to take it for a spin. If you are tied to your stringer it's very unsafe.

Ya'll have fun. Congrats on your catch.
