After doing honey-dos I was supposed to do yesterday, Mary says to me, "Oh by the way, I promised the parents of my best friend some fish. Did you keep any yesterday?" I told her I let Scott have all the trout we caught yesterday, which forced me to go have to go out again today. Wound up fishing hard first hour and got two Reds. One right at 28 and one at 25.

Also got 2 trout. That was enough for my wife's friends parents so I just played the rest of the time. Was throwing various lures, spinnerbaits, topwaters whatever I can find and fished places I normally don't fish just to see what might be there. Caught a lot of other fish and then it just got too hot to stay out there. Sweat dripping in your eyes and other crevices. Went through 4 bottles of water and had to come back in gor further hydration.

Nice red! Did you catch those fish during the heat of the day? Or was it early or late? I limited out on redfish yesterday evening throwing cut skipjack into some shallow murky water. Haven't had any luck on plastics or plugs on the laguna lately...

Went out about 10 am. Found them right against spoil Islands

Caught mine in the same sort of area but right before sundown. Same size too. I caught two big tournament fish. One was 27 7/8 and the other was 27 on the dot. The 3rd one was 25 inches. It's been a while since I've caught an upper slot red so I got a good workout on my new Quantum reel and H2O rod med/light short rod.
