| launched bird island late today. water was stirred up from the wind. used darker lures and had a lot of short strikes in the east pure oil channel area. bait everywhere. changed to old stand by..sugar and spice paddle tail but i bumped the weight of jig to 1/8 oz from my normal 1/16oz. same thing just short strikes. wind was making it hard to hold anchor as the wind started really howling so i called it a short day. i did talk to couple guys who had some good luck earlier in the day. they caught 7 trout all 16 to 18 in. they were caught over on the west side of oalesby hole where the fish had some protection from the wind and farther down by the yellow cabin and all on live shrimp. will try and give next report thur. going to head down to twin palms, tide gauge bar and south shoreline in baffin if wind decides to cooperate. good luck to all!!! |

Very detailed report. Don't get that often. Good luck to you men, on Thursday, I'll be fishing down Port Issbel way on Wednesday. _________________ "I do hunt and I do fish and I do not apologize to anyone that I hunt and fish." - Norman Schwarzkopf |

Orange tails and a steady slow retrieve If I jigged it any then they wouldnt take it. Caught another 40 yesterday before the front from morning to about 4o'clock. Then they were coming out the water for a topwater until sunset. 8 of those were CHUNKY trout from 22"-24". _________________
