Took a trip north of Taos to John Dunn Bridge area of Rio Grande. Stopped for this pic from above before descending to the river.
Got to the river and began throwing a Mepp's white spinner bait I bought at Roy's in the bargain bin. Caught one brown and one rainbow. It was about 10 am and the sun hadn't come up over the mesa and begun shining on the side if the river I was fishing from. I went to the other side and got into a natural hot spring to warm up. Temp was 24 degrees outside.
Over my shoulder is a 2nd spring and passed the rocks is the Rio. Like the post says, fish and a soak. Life is good. |

Only thing I can't figure out is it seems kinda backwards. I would spend my winters in Corpus and my summers in NM. Why go there in the winter when its colder than a dead eskimos butt and and come here in the summer when it's hotter than hell. _________________ Now that food has replaced my sex life I can't even get into my own pants!!!!!!!!

Why?
1. An awesome Christmas Eve at an Indian Pueblo.
2. Riding the "Polar Express" with my grandsons dressed in our PJ's.
3. Christmas day with my sons and their families.
4. New Year's Eve at Taos ski valley.
5. Enticing rainbows to hit a fly before my guides freeze over.
6. A horse drawn sleigh ride over an extinct volcano.
7. Inner tubing.
8. Building a snowman.
9. Making snow angels.
10. Watching migrating bald eagles.
11. Catching snowfkakes on ny tongue.
12. Looking at a Currier and Ives winter scene from my front door.
13. Watching your McAllen born and raised wife grin from ear to ear with each falling snowfkake.
Other than that I'm not sure why I'm here in the winter. Lol |

Hello Zia, The areas you have described are places I have visited many times, but not in this time of the year. Question, where is the extinct volcano located and how long was the sleigh ride? I have done sleigh rides north of Durango, but yours sounds interesting. _________________ Off Shore Port Mansfield |

A few more reasons:
14. Watching my 9 yr. old grandson play ice hockey and score his first goal.
15. Making and eating snow ice cream.
16. Watching skijoring. |
