Well fellow fishermen, the Sh!theads have struck again.
They have stolen my brothers white 2001 22ft Blue Wave with a black Yamaha 150 TRP motor from our canal dock Sunday morning around 5 to 6am. TX# 2416
Please keep a look out for it.
Thanks

We are on the North side canals behind Marker 37. We had two boats tied up and checked on them around 5am when the winds hit 54mph. They where ok then. Then the front hit around 6-7am with more wind and rain. That's when it went missing. Thought it blew free and searched all the area canals with the other boat with no luck. Then we noticed the two mooring ropes where still on the dock and both ends than where looped through the boat cleats where rolled up nice on top of the dock. Not something the wind would have done. Police report was filed.

That really s----! Seems, of late, that stealing boats is happening more frequently. Hope for two things 1. you get your boat back (in good shape), and 2. They catch the Bast.......s That took it.
Good luck

Thats no good. I saw a boat on fire at the entrance to the canals early Sat morning (about 5:30am) that I figured that I assumed was the result of some sort of foul play. Then again I guess it could have just been some sort of accident.

nope, was another that was stolen....the thieves are hitting the canals very hard right now....watch your stuff, watch your neighbors stuff, and be suspicious....this gang that's working the canals are very bold right now....not only are they stealing boats, but after they get it started, they will come up and try your back door to see if it's locked....if not, they'll grab stuff from the house and then take off with your boat... Shocked

A boat caught on fire Friday evening about 6pm and burned to the waterline at the entrance to the south canals, but that was due to an accident [owners were on board & rescued].

Exactly how long has this boat stealing crime spree been going on, how many boats stolen? Why haven't we heard anything about it until now?

I stand corrected on the boat that was burning, was part of La Posada and went to the waterline....I'm still waiting to hear that story? anyone?

the boat stealing has been like other crime on the Island; it comes in waves....and there's always one about this time of year with folks trying to make some extra cash for Christmas....LOL....

I have actually over-heard a few people talking about the boat thefts, and the criminals are under the impression that boat thefts on the Island are a victim-less crime....they think that folks are insured to the teeth, and will get made better than whole....some folks actually think they're doing people a favor (yup, pretty crazy huh?!!)

be extra vigilant on the Island, my buddy over on Yardarm caught a couple guys trying to steal his neighbors boat...and one TRIED THE BACK DOOR before they got spooked off and left in a hurry in another boat...

We have police in our family and they will be the first to tell you that being a thief is hard work. Its a job like anything else. All criminals work hard at our expense. If they worked just as hard at an honest living they wouldn't need to steal. Somewhere they screwed up and take advantage of others. A thief is scum plain and simple. Be vigilant.

The game wardens have called and located our stolen boat. It was located beached on the waters edge along Laguna Shores Rd and Caribbean St behind the built up berm . The lower unit was removed, batteries and all gear stripped. This is the third boat found in that area now. All lower units where pulled.

If you notice anyone "working" on a boat in the dark at the waters edge call the authorities to check up on it.

PS, IMS your hired!
