This morning I'm seeing dead fish floating in the main canal north of the waste water plant, paralleling the ICW. At first, it was mostly small pinfish, but now I'm seeing larger fish floating out on the flats before the spoil islands.

The tide has come up almost a whole foot since the red tide started a week ago. That combined with the east/NE winds have pushed alot of dead fish into the JFK/ICW area. The billings boat ramp is a scene out of a horror film.

Yesterday according to Sharon at Clem's red tide bloom was confirmed as far west as the ICW at Clem's. They were bringing water in from CC Bay
for their bait wells via shrimp boat. She said today the water was better
but lots of dead fish in the ICW.

Yep my canal is full of dead pinfish and you can see the bloom in the water this afternoon, very nasty looking.

And some insist we need to open Yarborough pass so all that wonderful surf water can get into baffin. Just imagine the lamentations if this stuff was flowing into baffin right now.

The ULM surrounding JFK is completely littered with dead fish, the canal up against my condo this past weekend was completely full. I went north towards AP this weekend and the dead fish stopped at essentially the power lines off the IC. I did not travel south.
