What is the best lure to use for trout in lights and where can you buy it?

I like a speck rig. You're certain to get a lot of different replies to this one.

I'm catching butt loads of trout using 2/12" "lil fishies" by Creme on 1/32 ounce jighead. Color doesn't matter.

Just about any small white soft plastic on a very light jig head has worked best for me.

If I was a trout I could tell you the answer to that ... but it would depend on what day you asked it.

Its a question that has no answer.

If anyone ever produces the best lure ever then I doubt he would need to work another day in his life.

The most effective lure I have used under the lights is a floating/dive shrimp in a clear plastic. I don't recall who made it, but flounder love it, as well.

I had really good luck off BHP using those "Little-Fishies" plastic lures in the silver with black edges color for Span. Macs. I remember one day they weren't hitting anything, even Mannolures, and I tried Little-Fishies on a hvg jig head because the current was pretty stong right behind the "T", fished it slowly right down on the bottom and BIG smacks were grabbing them. I think I still have a couple packages of them around the house.

That's it.. very light jig heads and smaller straight plastics are great. The yo zuri crystal minnow is another good one. I find lures that look like baitfish catch a little bigger fish in the lights.

I start with a 1/8 ounce jig with a glow in the dark Trout Killer 3" soft plastic swimming shad. If they don't attack that, I go to a trout rig of two 1/16 ounce jig heads with the same soft plastic in 2". If that isn't working, I start changing to different colors usually some version of pepper flake with green or chartreuse tail. Often times, if they don't like the glow shad, they like the white and chartreuse store made trout rig with the little french fry worm trailer. If that isn't working, I go to the split tail swimming shad variety and/or change to one of the "opening night" colors. Honestly, if people aren't asking me what color I'm using, then I'm asking them what color they're using. After awhile, you have a nice selection in your box. Some nights you have to get it just right, some nights it doesn't seem to matter.

Lately, I've been trying Vodu Shrimp under corks, and I haven't landed anything yet, but have had a few little ones hit them pretty hard.

I use to catch a lot of White Bass spawning up the rivers of central Texas reservoirs on those. I used the 1 1/2" size though.
