Currently slick clam with lightning and westerly moving thunderstorms off the coast. The barometer is 29.93 and the humidity is a wet 98%. Nevertheless going to go out for a quick drift or 2 to see whats going on. Some pretty impressive lightning so far. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED.

| Plenty of lightening and thunder over here in Copano this morning. Just a little rain, although large drops. I think that I will just put another pot of coffee on and sit on the patio enjoying the morning..........cC |

Lots of fun today and moments that were not so fun ( hook in the thumb of John) but he finally work it out. The action was crazy and reds, trout,, and a few skippies were on the prowl, must have been that cooler North wind. Topwaters, plastics kept the fish hopping. They were over there, over here, no over there, just all around. I wasn't planning on going but I'm glad the guys leaned on me.
Steve with an oversize red....released.
John caught a thumb we decided to keep it.
John oversize red, I released it while John fought the thumb.
As always the table shot , 3 more reds would have been nice but not a bad morning . We were done by 10:30 and out of water and getting thirsty....time to go clean fish. The color sucks on the table shot I'll see if one of the guys got a better shot.
That's a better pic with a great looking guy in it too.

I wish I had a report. With ripping out carpet, putting in tiles, refereeing volleyball I have not been on a water and almost two weeks. I'm having fish fever |

The tide came back up this week and lots of trout with easy limits.
Last week was low tides and some pretty decent sight casting for reds with the fly rod. |

Ouch! those dang hooks are sharp. (Have you ever wrapped fishing line around the hook and pulled it out backwards)?
I was fishing with a friend, who happened to be an E.R. Doctor, when I stuck a treble into my finger as far as possible. That was the first time I witnessed the trick (of pulling out a hook with no cutting or pushing through the other side). It was surprisingly quick and almost painless. I put a piece of tape over it and finished the fishing trip.
I took my stepdad out Sunday evening, the 16th, but we didn't find the fish like you described. I think you caught them all.
We brought home a couple of smallish trout, although he did catch his largest redfish ever. A 32" brute that gave him a good fight. That fish made his year, and I put it on his Facebook page for him. He was all smiles. _________________ You have 2 choices in life: The right one or the easy one. |
