Son and wife were at BHP in the parking lot about 10:30 Monday morning and saw what they described as a huge shark fin north of the pier in the first gut. Mothers were screaming at their children to get out of the water. Son said the fish swam back and forth several times, stayed about 5 minutes and then disappeared. He described fin as about 8-10 inches out of the water. Anybody hear anything about this?

Last year down on PINS I was with some friends and we watched several sharks thrashing around in the wade guy chasing bait. We estimated those to be around 5-6' or so. Never could get one to take the bait though.

I saw a video of a greater hammer around 9 or 10 feet swimming in the wade gut between Whitecap Beach and Bob Hall Pier. It was taken right before the cold water upwelling began.

While prepping the kayak in the early mornings, it's common to see finning sharks in the wade gut, just searching for some breakfast. They don't bother anything, and I like watching them cruise by before I launch and paddle offshore.

My buddy was reeling in a fish in the wade gut at first light one morning. About a 6 or 7 foot blacktip rolled on the fish but never hooked up. He gets the fish to hand and we see it's a startgazer. That shark just sat there in the wade gut stunned. Tried to get my buddy to touch the stargazer between the eyes but he knew better than to trust me. ⚡️

My early morning surf trout always get walked to the ice chest. They are my trout! Not just the top half! Hard as the catching has been lately, I'm not much for sharing!
