Went out to the honey hole area about 1030 after feeding all my family.first 3 drifts resulted in three trout and a flounder fishing my normal way. Things slowed down considerably so I hopped around and nothing. But then I noticed at the end of my retrieve, when I would speed up my lure to bring it to the boat I would get fish following it. Not being too dumb, I switched to a paddle tail Norton sand shad. I was working the sand pockets and retrieve fairly quickly with a twitch now and then during the retrieve. Almost non-stop action. Wound up with a total of 9 trout a red and a flounder. Left them biting but I thought it was more important to get home to get ready to go to my grandsons wedding as opposed to fishing. One of the better days in a while. All fished released.

It pays to be attentive to what's going on. From your previous posts it is obvious that you are very attentive. Must be the old coach in you.

I think I seen you there Zia ... wasnt sure it was you ... we were drifting in a white Mako 17 skiff and you were just outside the crash channel about 10am or so.
We got one keeper trout and two ~26" reds on live shrimp.
A few rat reds and a lot of dink trout.

I thought the water looked nice but the trout just didnt really want the live shrimp we offered.

I was looking for a white Mako but I didn't see one. Whereabouts were you fishing?
