What type or brand of jig heads do you guys or gals like to use when fishing around or in the grass on the flats, the type I'm using now gets alot of grass caught in front of the eyelet on the jig.
The lures I'm using is either the cokahoe or gulp type plastics.

Thanks, Fred

I use 1/8th and 1/16 oz screw lock jig heads. Bass Assasin, Notton, TTS, all make good jig heads. As far as grass goes....if it's there you'll be catching some. Very the pace and technique of your retrieve.
PS: you might want to try tying directly to the eye of the jig.

Don't know if brands make too much of a difference. The H2O jigheads have always worked well for me. If there's weeds then go to weedless jigheads. I don't even know what brand of weedless jigheads I have. If you hide the tip of the weedless hook under the lure then the only spot that would regularly catch grass should be at the knot. Usually there's a small piece of the tag end that gets grass hung up on it. There's an app called knot wars that I found a knot called the "jansik knot". The tag end pulls down letting the grass fall over it opposed to most knots that the tag end pulls up or out. Basically the tiny piece of line that you let hang off the knot can easily catch grass. Im sure there are other, better, probably harder to tie knots but the jansik works for me and is easy to tie. Oh yeah that knot is good for mono and flouro but sucks for braid. I hope I helped. Let me know if there's less grass on your eyelet if you try out the knot. Good luck

Some people tie to a snap/swivel which the eye of the jig is then attached to.

Lately I have been using the new gulp jig heads. They are extra large for their weight so they sink slow. You can keep it out of the grass and stick with a not too fast retrieve. You can also get them in different sink rates as well.

I bought a pack the other day. Not only what you said but they hold gulps on tight without having to use screw type jigheads. Even after catching several fish.

Once I used the "High Tide" brand jigheads, I have never used anything else. The plastic stays on and doesn't get torn due to twisting with catching fish, even the real soft brands. I think 1/16 and 1/8 size gives you better action, but for deeper water the 1/4 works fine, plus these heads have a very sharp strong hook with a large bite for even penetrating flounder jaws(rather than just some skin). Roys has them and Academy used to, but they changed a bunch of that kind of stock.

Theres a local guy that is making these new Laguna Jig Heads sold at Marker 37. We picked some up the other week and they are without a doubt the strongest/sharpest jigs we have used. They have the eagle claw trokar hooks on them. Screw lock and barbed he makes. I highly recommend them!

I use the Norton laser wide gap in 1/8th with the barbs alaways have because it's what I like. Some produts are getting harder and harder to find I guess more people are using lures these days it's I can figure. When theres grass theres not much you can do. Make sure your hook is up, coming out of the back of the plastic rather than coming out of the belly so to say. Makes it somewhat better in the grass. Cheers, IMS.

"Where else do you tie?"
Answer: Snap, or snap/swivel combination
Have seen people use them.
