Wanted to take my daughter fishing in the morning to the Fishpass Jetties but wasn't sure if the sand was too deep for our mini-van. Are there any reports from out there?

Call the state park and ask if you don't get a response here.

Driving everywhere has been great once you get past the Access Rd. ruts (especially true at Access Rd. 3). Have not been to Access Rd. 2 in a while, but it's normally well groomed at the road and points north, by the County for all the high-end house/condo folks.

driving might be good but I don't know about the caching. With the pups well. Might need to take the daughter some place not at the surf .

Just an observation on my part here: when I was living down there in 1972, surfing and fishing, and when I have down there since, I never had any problem at any off the access roads, and this was ALWAYS with two wheel drive.

Before leaving the pavement I stop, get out and take a look at the sand to see how soft it may be and where the deepest ruts are. If it looks iffy as far as soft, I back up to build speed and momentum before hitting the sand....... In those areas that are least rutted up.

A little recon and common sense will get you through, and then you only need to reverse the process when heading back out to the road. Wink

Rd 2 has been well manicured as of late. Fish pass should be no problem. I never enter the state park section, so I couldn't tell you anything about the access to FPJ fro the south

Exactly what sherkus said. Packed hard all the way, no problem whatsoever.
