A little larger version with a salt water hook and a little more slinky fiber...

| Very nice looking fly. I would think just about anything would eat that. |

Pretty soon we will find out - my new Sage Xi3 6WT will be here Tuesday! And as soon as this hot weather starts to fade, I'll be finding out how that fly works! |

I didn't know there was such a thing?
In all honesty, I rarely cast in freshwater, mostly because I do not find freshwater fish to be as delectable to my taste buds as I do salt water fish. I like fly fishing because it is more challenging, and I while I do release most fish if they can be released healthy, I do fish for good eats! However, in the last 15-years or so, I haven't been fishing as much as I ought to, regardless of water type...
I will have to look into Austin Fly Fishers and see what I can find out! |

| Really nice tie and pattern. So, does it ride upright when stripped? Something that realistic, probably wouldn't matter. Very skillful. |

The Hook acts kinda like a keel and keeps the fly upright and it sinks because the carapace is made from UV cure clear fly finish.
It is called a Popovic's Ultra Shrimp an you can find variatons of it and tying videos on Google!
Looks good enough to eat! |

Redfish / Speck equipment... Bauer CFX 3 and Sage Xi3 6WT
The craft foam crease fly poppers might be on the upper edge of what I can cast if I shorten a leader down a bit. Has a RIO Bonefish QuickShooter 7WT line on it w/ 150-yds of Dacron backing.
A simply AWESOME Spanish Mackerel rod...

| You might also try Scott Sparrow's VIP popper. Easy to tie, easy to cast (I throw it with my 5 wt with ease) and lands like a feather. Just one more good one for your arsenal.http://www.lagunamadreflyfishing.com/offsite-2/page15/page15.html |
