| Made it down to the surf about 0700 the water was great, small swells and crystal clear. I was throwing a spoon and caught a nice keeper red. I usually don't keep fish, but nobody wanted it. About an hour later I tried some bait, and caught a bait rig that had a nice fat trout still on it. Not to bad, went back to throwing a spoon and managed another fat surf trout. This filled my ice chest and I decided to head back to San Antonio a happy fisherman. |

Sounds like a great time at the beach. Seems like surf trout are just fatter than the bay trout.
Hope you had a safe trip home. Come back soon. |

Surf trout are definitely fatter. I hit the beach monday morning for a while and caught a 16 1/2 inch speck on a spook junior. I fish the bays a lot and I swore that trout was gonna push 18. But nope it was just fat. Thanks for the report. _________________ You won't know if you don't go! |

| Same with river bass. Pound for pound, a bass out of the river will fight harder than a bass out of a lake. |
