[img]My Dad was a member of this board but he wasn't big on posting. So, he read more than he ever posted, guess I'm the same way. Today would've been his 61st birthday, but he was called home 3 years ago. My father spent his life making sure my mother was always happy, his children never went without, and that everyone around him walked away with a smile. A son's greatest task is to meet his father's expectations and then try to exceed the legacy that his father leaves. I was lucky enough to host my mother and father as guests in my home in Golden, Colorado during my father's battle with cancer. While they were there I took them to a lake in the mountains and he caught his first fresh water trout using fly tackle, in true Colorado fashion. So, here's to you dad, thank you for the "dentist appointments" that were really white bass trips to Three Rivers, and the camping trips to the Big Shell, the kayak excursions and the deer hunts at our ranch, and everything in between. Not a day goes by that I don't benefit from having you as a dad. You did it right. Miss you buddy.[/img] [/code] _________________ Do not think you can escape them

I had the pleasure of knowing your dad. David and I would share fishing stories at work. We always tried to plan a trip together but schedules never seemed to line up. He really was a great guy. _________________ You won't know if you don't go! |
