...the winds died...the rains stopped...I got to fish.
Took advantage of the final part of a Valentine's present from Mary and went and got a massage. When finished I was feeling really good so I took the yak to my 2 min. HH. Water was nice in spots and threw a gulp on an 1/8 ounce jighead. Caught several trout in the 15" range which were released. After a couple skippies I hooked a couple 18-19 inch rat reds.
Finally nailed a spunky 25" red. It was filled with crabs and made a tasty dinner.
If you go out in a boat, be careful. Lots of debris in the water including parts of duck blinds.
BTW I got 8.1" of rain at my house. |

| Nice little outing. Believe that all this rain is going to make for some really good summer fishing. |

Wow! I'm surprised that the fish were around, much less biting. Good job.
I'm in the Bluff also, Laguna Shores & Yorktown area. We only got 4.11" of rain at our house last night, but I've talked to people that say they had 7-9" at NAS. What a storm!
P.S. I almost stepped on a rattlesnake today. 7 rattles and a button with very vivid markings. Instead of the yellowish tint markings in the brown, there were more white markings in the brown. I'd never seen one marked like that..... _________________ You have 2 choices in life: The right one or the easy one. |

I got 5.20 in the official rain guage and 4.98 in the electronic rain guage up on the pole AND .13 the day before. More today on the way. Found lots of dead birds mostly sparrows that apparently drowned. Bring on the reports zia.... _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

found two dead grackles and one live one on my deck. I'm trying to keep the live one surviving. All I have to feed it was suet. I hope that works.
forgot to put my other rain gauge backup. I had an ice chest sitting on my table in the backyard and it had almost 7 inches of rain last night in it. I don't know that how that computes do actual rainfall |
