Started out Friday at 10:00 from Charlie's. Tide was already coming in and picking up. Headed towards San antoni bay to hit a reef. Had five trout in about 45 minutes. Used chicken on a chain. Most were caught on a flat with scatterd shell before the reef. Went in search of reds in a back lake but really only saw schools of drum and lots of mullet moving in.. Picked up one red on outside shoreline and headed to another reef and unfortunately tide movement slowed to nothing and it shut down the bite, managed to find three more trout before calling it a day. Was interesting seeing what I think was the previous day's dirty water from the wind moving with the tide. At one point the clealy visible line of dirty water was passing by and small trout were right on the line of color change. The bite was definitely more aggressive and the fish were heavy for there length. Biggest was 20" _________________ Take a kid fishing, best investment for them and our future of fishing. |
