Wondering what water temps are like in Aransas in Oct/Nov. Just spent a month wading flats down in Mexico, and of course no need for them there. Vacationing in Port Aransas starting next week til end of November and wondering if waders are recommended for long days on the flats. Thanks!

depends on how many Northers come thru...
I have surf-fished early Nov in 74 degree water...
but the shallow bays COULD cool quicker...
I will defer to the local experts.
when it's 100 the old Frio river w/mid 70's is breath-taking Very Happy
just really depends on what blows down...
but a light-weight set just in case cant hurt.
T-day can get cold...or stay warm... or be warm early and miserable by sundown...
a nice day can get cruddy quick...

Thanks, kweber. Yeah, I've seen plenty of TV shows where they're fly fishing for red fish in winter (usually up in the Louisiana area), and it looks like it could be pretty cold. But the shows never really tells you what time of year it was taped. Big difference between Oct/Nov and Jan/Feb, I would imagine. Air temp and water temp both. Then I'll pack my waist waders just in case. Aside from a howling wind, nothing ruins a day fly fishing than being too cold to enjoy it.

October is a toss up, but you'll want them in November.
