First post guys. I had a question about camping on the back side of Padre Island. If I launch at marker 37 on a Friday afternoon and go south; past Bird Island. Can I anchor the boat and make a small camp anywhere I please? I realize that this is PINS land but since I did not take a vehicle in or launch at the Bird Island Basin boat ramp, am I legal? My intent is just to stay Friday night and to be on the water early Saturday (return to Marker 37 Saturday afternoon). Any advise would be appreciated. _________________ She thinks I'm workin' |

I have camped in the landcut on the spoils far as I know it is just camping on pins people camp at Yarborough on the laguna side all the time btw it is way better on the spoils than the back of the island waaaaaay less bugs and no critters for the most part _________________ EAT,SLEEP,BREATHE,FISHING |

Not planning on going as far as Yarborough so that's why I asked about the back side of the Island. Guess I could stop North of PINS at S NighHawk and make camp there, right? I did not consider any spoils. No restrictions on spoils as long as there are no signs about bird rookery? _________________ She thinks I'm workin' |

The Park says camping is permitted at only the five designated areas.

Try some scouting trips to see if you can find something suitable on a spoil. I wouldn't want to trample vegitation or even leave a sign of a camp behind. Maybe a packed sand tidal flat on low tide. _________________ kick your shoes off and cast a line |
