Im surprised to see that there has not been any jetty reports about the bulls running? Is it not in full swing yet or people are just being stingy and not wanting the rest of us knowing the run is in full swing? lol
Been busying chasing bass here in SA but Ive been dying to do some rock hopping! Any info on the run would be nice _________________ Work is for people who dont know how to fish! |

when you feel a disturbance in the force that the jetty should be going off, and you don't hear any reports, that means the jetty IS going off.....
it gets posted on here that mullet on the bottom near the end will get you a limit of reds in a half hour in the morning and evenings, then it will be elbow to elbow.....
err, wait, I mean....uhh.....nothing to see out there....stay home

What, you did not hear that they took the jetties down and all fish have moved out? Ha!!
Becky, let the cat out of the bag - shame on her (just kidding).
Actually, you said bull reds, those guys are not in "full Swing" yet per say. A lot of slot reds with a few oversized being caught.
You know reds are running when you finally see a game warden out walking on the jetty checking everybody. I seen a game warden twice now at the jetties. |

We were in Port A three weeks ago and only managed a few bulls off the rocks. Headed down tomorrow after my buddy get's off. Hopefully things have picked up. I'll post up if we find any. |

I figured the Reds would be thick just wanted confirmation. I particularly don't like packery bc it gets crowded easily so that is why I asked about port a. I hope to head on down in the next couple of weeks! _________________ Work is for people who dont know how to fish! |

North Jetty report on Tuesday
I like to think that spending four hours making leaders, cleaning and re-spooling reels, ordering the secret never failed me jigs and buying live shrimp would give me a slight edge over someone fishing on top of the sandbar with frozen mullet on a tourist leader with a Wal-Mart combo special and 10 Oz sand grabbers with the prongs bent the wrong way. If you know how to fish stay away from the North Jetty or go back to doing what you did week one.
The two guys from San Antonio kicked our butt with double hook ups and a limit of keeper reds (Very nice Guys who fished hard).
So here is the report
fish the 1st and 2nd gut with dead finger mullet and grind out a limit of reds
fish the Tombstone with live Mullet for Spanish
Don't waste time going to the end more Spanish! 400+ casts for trout no hits just Spanish
bring cast net finger mullet are thick cut off 1/3 of the tail and hook through the belly plate. So much bait in the surf the fish are looking for an easy meal on the bottom that's not moving
Fish for flounder close to the rocks with live mullet in the surf in the 1st gut if you feel a bump wait 60 seconds then lift up on the pole firmly
Next day went to Port O'Conner Game On!!!
