It has been way too long since ive fished the beach. Its looking like it should be a pretty light wind tomorrow and slightly west, so i have high hopes for some calm surf. This will be my new shark racks first PINS trip, hopefully it gets broken in right! Good luck to anyone else fishing tomorrow!

Well the beach conditions were absolutely perfect! Driving was as good as it gets, surf was non existent, water was gin clear, and no sea weed at least not from the 20 north. This trip it was just me and my friend Zach, we set up shop around the 20 just before sunrise.. and it was good one!

Shrimp and fishbites would catch whiting in the first gut, and mullet would bring huge skipjacks and one Spanish Mac.

I get some of the fresh whiting and skipjack rigged up, and paddled out. And now we wait...

Maybe an hour went by I cant remeber but Zach strikes first with a little black tip.

A few minutes after and i have one to match.

Then a few hours would go by with nothing, we were starting to doze off on the rack and zach's 6/0 goes off and we are wide awake now! There is no better alarm clock the sound of a screaming reel. As soon as the shark realized it was hooked it went crazy, it breached out of the water 3 or 4 times. Maybe 30 minutes later I can see the shark over the first bar, it looks in the 6-7 ft range. Im starting to walk out to tail rope when, I hear zach yell that he got off. He spit the hook and disapeared back into the deep right in front of us. Oh well , he catches another whiting rigs up and paddles back out. Another hour goes by and finally my 9/0 gets hit pretty good. After a short battle another black tip is on the sand, this one a little bigger. I forgot my measuring tape, but i think he was around 5 1/2 ft.

The release.

It was great to get back on the beach, and i cant wait to get back out.
Later yall.
