I planned on fishing until sundown and strategically placed ourself close to Charlie's to ensure daylight. Well running the back lake( done several times with much less water) I managed to pick up grass and lost pressure and heat buzzer went off. I was about a mile away and by the time I could restart after allowing motor to cool it was dark. That's when I discovered my connection was bad for my spotlight and I see lightening in a group of clouds passed south pass. Rather than risk making the narrow cut to get back to the dock without light(too shallow to not make it without getting boat on plane) I eased back out and around Sholwater. Then to make matters worse the GPS started going out! Well end result I eased along at 7-8 mph and made it back safe and sound. Made some notes on lessons learned and will be better prepared next launch. Oh and caught one red and a drum off chicken on chain, plus two undersized trout. _________________ Take a kid fishing, best investment for them and our future of fishing. |

Nothing like an exciting trip to keep your eyes wide open and your butt tight. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |
