After church I caught a few mullet and went to the surf. All I caught was a skip jack that I have in the cooler. I know Redfish like them, but I don't know if they like them after they have been on ice. Afterwards I went to the now "gated" Packery Park and fished for about an hour. All I caught was another skip jack.
I was wondering how long we have to wait before the reds start biting again? I was thinking about going in the morning before class and before it get's too hot. But I really don't desire to waste my time if the fishing is going to be bad due to all the rain. I saw many folks fishing under the Pack Bridge but I'm not sure if they were catching fish, or doing like me and just avoiding the ole Dallas Cowboy game. I will say though that my Pastor: Donald Leavell preached up a storm today, I'm surprised it didn't rain.
Any thoughts? |

My thoughts....1) you will not catch fish if you don't go fishing. 2) don't hate.... the cowboys actually played well today compared to last week. 3) use cut skipjack for reds 4) just because we think the weather is bad doesn't mean the fish agree. _________________ Great captains, the stuff of legend, are made not by what they have caught, but by what they have given back. |

Thanks for the info. BTW I wasn't haten on the Boys. I love em too. I just can't stand that old Jerry hasn't gotten rid of Romo. Makes me not want to even watch but I'm still a fan. I have a window in the morning that I won't have till next weekend. I think I'll take you up on the advice "Can't catch if you don't go". And if I can ever figure out how to post pics, I will give a report in the morning |

| Redfish have been schooling already and now after this little front they should start coming in bigger schools. Got reports yesterday that the reds were cruising through the Humble all day. |

They have been in Packery channel too. There are reports of over limits and oversize reds being taken. Afriend of mine said someting to an Asian guy about it and he replied that he was catching his wifes limit also. I was told he had 6 oversize reds on his stringer. The friend tried to call operation game thief but there was no answer..... people are lining up out there I hope the wardens are too. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Have not seen a game warden on the coast since the "invasion" of children from Central America earlier this summer. They are on the border "protecting" the state along with the National Guard thanks to the Gov. |

the reds were crushing topwaters in the flats yesterday....not sure what you're getting at...
get you some dead mullet with some HEB double drops, two ounces of lead, and head out to packery jetties with the rest of the dead-stick crowd and catch some redfish.....don't be silly....
