Loaded the truck and headed to PINS Saturday morning and we were set up at the 25 mm by 1030. Arrived to beautiful conditions and bait present. Immediately got the Pomp rigs set up and cast netted some close-in Skipjack. We dropped a couple Skippies out in the second gut and past the third bar which would remain untouched. Late in the afternoon we picked up one ray about 3' diameter and another about 2' on the Pomp rigs that would be perfect bait for the night. Rigged the bigger ray up on the 12/0 hopeful that a big'n would be cruising out around 400 yards and rigged the wings on the 9/0 and dropped those in just passed the third bar. Also had baits in the shallow first gut and second gut. Woke up the next morning to find that all had gone completely untouched. A bit disappointing but still a good time on the sand.
Oh, and cruising back we saw someone pull in the biggest ray that I had ever seen. Must have been 5' across at least. _________________ -Pat |

| Man there were a ton of rays that weekend. I stepped on 4 and somehow didn't get stung! Biggest was ankle deep at night about 2' across. |
