Drove thru hard rain Saturday from Kingsville to Corpus. The rain stopped when we got to the island. Picked up some live shrimp from the bait bucket and was trying to decide where to launch from. With the north east wind we decided to go just north of the JFK and fish along the channel. Crossing the channel the we saw a big splashing and a bunch of tails we were not sure at first what they were. We got staked out in a hurry and got lines out and not long after the wife's is hooked up and I know its a decent size fish it keeps taking line and pulling us around. We get it in the net a nice 26 inch drum. That's what the tails we saw were. Then she gets another just a few minutes later. While I keep catching skip jacks. Finally my turn comes and I catch 2 nice drum and 1 trout.
