So far the answer to this question is hell no. Its kind of strange growing up in Port A. and fishing Baffin and the Land Cut for the last 30 years. But i got to tell you i like the dryer air and some many deer to feed every morning and after noon. All good things must come to an end, but the last couple of years on Padre drove me crazy. So many tournaments and all the ill effects from dudes driving boats early in the morning with there floodlights in your face on the wrong side of the ditch and the a -holes cutting off your drifts and the potlickers seeing your party neeting a red then they turn around and set up near you ??? things like this was a big factor to buy a ranch near Boerne and sell the bay boat. My oldest son just got transfered with the U.S.C.G to Corpus from Galveston, so I'm sure we will still fish the floater at twin palms in the fall and winter.

Schlitterbaun and all the traffic and want to be Mr trophy trout dudes that fished with a guide a couple of times,i guess ive had enough. The threat of a big blow which will come someday also pushed me to the Hill country. I have met alot of fine fisherman down south and have helped any way i counld to teach respect to other boaters and fisherman for the past 15 years nearly fishing every weekend, Reading about the PINS rangers sucks. Taking the trout limits down to five with no proof the fishier is hurting ??Its a shame the island will never be the same. But what does i guess in life. Tight lines to y'all and remember help some one on the water, the next time it could be you.

I think I will do the same thing oneday. I love feeding deer at my brother's cabin in Utah. Deep down inside I know it hurts a little leaving the salt air. But you are right it's just going to get more crowded and more crowded as people flock to the coastlines. The best to ya and I hope you feed alot of deer. IMS

I've been here for 22 years and i'm so ready head out of here you wouldn't believe it. but i'm stuck here for the time being. so i try to make the best of it. But hey fishing is fishing. i know i could get into fly fishing in some of the creeks and rivers up around Jacksonhole,WY Yellowstone or Alaska for that matter. South texas as a hole has gotten so trashy its sickening. Good luck up there

Boerne is just a bedroom community of SA. Almost as bad as living in SA. The real Hill Country is out about 30 miles further. We live in Center Point, pop 800 with one and only one absolutely unneeded traffic light. I cross 4 streams and one river to get from Kerrville to my house. Have a 14 acre community lake that has produced several 12 lb plus bass. We are hoping for a Share Lunker fish soon.

BTW, did you see the sign on I-37 that says "RESUME NORMAL BREATHING"??

Does anyone know how they measure humidity in Houston??

In shirts - as in the number of extra shirts you have to take with you on your way to work to ensure there is still an un-sweaty dry one once you arrive at work.

Hey IMUS Most people out here call them "BIG BROWNISH GREY RATS". Too bad my wife's cats can't eat them - at least at one sitting. They are everywhere (the deer, not the cats, but close!!).

I envy your living in Center Point! I hunted a ranch right out of town for several years. Beautiful country and a nice lil town.

Boerne is crazy busy!!!

Houston SUCKS!!!

I believe I've fished your lake Wink
Used to pick up trash in exchange for fishing rights... Never pulled one of the double digit fish out though.

We are getting more people here, but most of them are retirees who have the assets necessary to support their lifestyle. I don't see the kind a-holes and trashy types that seem to have invaded the coastal areas. Not casting aspersions at you guys who live on the coast, but we have a much lower population of the low life types here.

Sorry FCO but Center Point (and Ingram) are where most of the low life types live around here (codename "CEDARHACKERS").

Personally I find the best time to visit and fish on the coast is from September to April. I tend to stay away during the summer. To much heat, humidity, and skeeters in the summer.

The hill country is full of cedar choppers and meth-heads, I think there is just as much theft and murdering around Canyon Lake than the Bluff if not more according the San Antonio news I'm watching

just picked up a trailer-load of cut tile, bricks and other assorted trash from a pool-build that was dumped next to my fence, so there's no shortage of scum anywhere.
when the county started charging a dump fee at the refuse/dump/garbage pick-up spot, I knew the county roads would quickly become dumping grounds. it didn't take long.
