Friend of mine sent me this picture, local want-to-be found out the rocks move around in Baffin overnight. He said it happened Saturday.
That rock took the Mercury right off the transom.

OUCH!!!!!
Just had to share this one.

| I feel sorry for those guys, but considering the obvious investment, I'm sure they're heavily insured. I've never owned a boat worth insuring and I've never had on the same kind of shirt as everyone else on board. |

Is that what they call collateral damage, the motor not the shirts?
Hope all onboard were unscathed. _________________ kick your shoes off and cast a line |

ouch. that is my biggest fear about Baffin. but that's where my boat spends 99% of its time. hope that was insured. that's a quick 15-20K loss. _________________ Chris Gonzales |

Looks like a good reason to not have the motor locked down. Unless one is revving hard in reverse, it ain't needed anyway.
Every outboard that I've used had a lock/unlock tab, switch, whatever. Are there some that don't? Then again, I have no time with anything over a 115 HP. _________________ Dave

Thy probably drove over that rock many times with normal tide, but those rocks have a bad habit of getting taller with a low tide like we have now.
PS - I don't think there is a man alive that knows where all of the rocks in Baffin are. _________________ Off Shore Port Mansfield |

But for the Grace of God ......... especially on low tide. This coming from one of the two man team that ruined two brand new tires on a Tundra on PINS when the driving was great. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

In the OP, he calls the guy a "local want-to-be." I just thought it's a bit presumptuous and poking fun at a fellow fisherman's unfortunate incident is a bit crude. _________________ JJ |
