Decided to battle the winds today and do some fishing. Launched about 7 am north of the JFK Bridge. Water was a clear green color, fished soft plastics along with live shrimp under a popping cork. No takers on the soft plastics but the dink trout were really hitting the live shrimp under the cork. Managed to grind out a nice 22 inch red (also on live shrimp) with what I thought was a cool tail pattern. I am sure there has been lots of reds caught with different patterns but this one caught my eye right away because it almost looked like a happy face at least I think so.
