My cousin is coming down from Dallas in mid May and wants to book a guided trip with his two boys (HS and college age) - either off shore or bay. Is May a good time to go off shore? I was thinking there's a good chance seas could be pretty rough. I don't want them to spend the whole trip leaning over the side of the boat. I'm not an off shore guy so thought I'd ask the experts... Appreciate any thoughts on the matter.. _________________ "There's no such thing as a bad day fishing." |

Easy choice, go bay fishing.
The winds are still usually pretty jacked up at that time and offshore is unpredictable. Certainly don't want to take the boys out in that when you can have an almost certain good day on the bay.
Late summer is usually a great time for beginners offshore, or any day when the wind hasn't been blowing steady for two weeks (or months) straight. _________________ I'd rather be fishing |

| I would find a guide that does both. That way if the seas are down you can go offshore and catch some of those Texas monsters. |
