| Ive had a beachtrip planned this weekend for over two months. Usually hit the beach friday daylight. Called the PINS beach and surf report this morning. The same hillbilly lady is still giving the report. Never said a word about beach closure. I called the visitor center at 930. Kathy said it should open Saturday morning. Seems a little drastic to me to close the beach over the small amount of tar/oil. I can remember tar being a regular thing as a kid. The Ixtox 1 oil spill in 1979 was many times worse and tar/oil washed up for a long long time. We had special clothes at that time that were just for camping/fishing one entire summer. It was just part of the experience. The Park was much different then. The new regime is a reflection of the type of government we are dealing with. We've come long long sad sad way. |

I've been around since before the Park existed. The last place to get on the beach was at Bob Hall pier. There have been many changes to PINS over the years. The beach closure is just another example of a government out of control. Trying to protect/think for those to ignorant to protect/think for themselves. A little tar "Come on Man" get real. _________________ Life is Good |
