I've never caught a damn thing on mantis shrimp (sea lice), but crab can definitely get them going.

I'm with you on that one, my go to bait Is fresh crab when I can get it, never liked sea lice but one weekend my buddy brought a bunch fresh off the boats and we murdered the drum, caught 14 oversized in just a few hours.... Still I like my crabs, lol that sounded jacked up

Haha Its the other way for me. Crabs work ok but sealice just kill em and last longer on the hook.

Well in saying that, my brother said crabs and sea lice are hard to come by, is this the case? Do I need to get bait early if I'm planning a weekend trip?

Cos-way bait and tackle on spid has plenty of sealice. Crab flavored fishbites have been producing well too. I fished cos-way last night and from 8:30pm until 1am there was 21 over sized caught my group alone caught 11.

The sealice seem to be the ticket right now, a close runner up is the crab flavored fishbites tipped with shrimp.

Well it is a go for this coming weekend, gonna visit some family and see if I can get into a few big uglies while I'm there. Hopefully I can find sealine and a few bait crabs to start the night!
