I was on the Padre Island website and read that you can burn the wood you find on the beach. I was wondering if you were allowed to use a chainsaw? Some of the logs out there are pretty big and the ones washed up to the dunes are probably dry. If not, how about a cordless sawzall?
Also drove down to just past the 15 today and caught 3 hard heads.
Saw others having good luck on the way out though. |

The old laws were you could burn cut lumber no driftwood. Some driftwood doesn't burn anyway it only smolders. _________________ Life is Good |

Had a friend two years ago get chewed on pretty good by a ranger for his little gas chain saw. Not sure the exact rule though. No reprimand for using it on drift wood though. Worth looking up the specific rules to be certain and safe. _________________ Eagles may soar...but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. |

Better be ready to sharpen or replace some chains! ANY wood you find down there will be impregnated with salt and sand! _________________ Common sense ISN'T! |
