Been reading and have seen some people asking about the Laguna...so I decided to install some new equipment on the old yak....I told myself I was doing this in preparation for the spring.....then I started running a fever.....A fishing fever!!....lol put the yak on the 2003 toyota matrix....lol headed toward JFK cosway for about an hour and a half.....to my surprise early Sunday morning around 51 degrees, the Reds started jumping.....The water was so smooth my anchor never tightened....I stopped on the cosway/red dot channel drop with 3 reels...1 in channel and the other 2 in the shallow. To my surprise....really just checking the new gear....fishing only with dead shrimp....i pulled 4 reds...only 1 keeper....3 drum....1 keeper....and a really nice sheep head....actually the largest sheep head I've ever caught @ 17 inches...here are the keeper pics

Looks like you made good use of the opportunity. Thanks for the report. Where did you launch from?

I launched off near the gas pipeline...The exit right before the JFK...i think it's Laguna shore Rd if I remember correctly

Nice catch thanks for sharing. Dead shrimp is always the key when live bait is not to be found good choice. Nice Yak.
