Im getting close to finished and need to mount my smoke stack on my pit trailer w/ smoker. The fire box is 2x2x3 ft square, the pit/pipe is 2x5 feet round and the smoker is 2x2x4ft square. My question is on where to best place the smoke stack on the smoker. The smoker sits all the way down on the pit and is fully opened to the pit if you get what I'm saying. I've done a little research and am interested on putting it at grill level (about half way down the smoker) on the farthest end from the firebox. Anyone have any experience with a lower smoke stack? Maybe you could consider dual smoke stacks with dampers. The first location as you mention, then a second on top of the smoker box. It would give you more control of the box (if I am getting what you're describing). _________________

Here are a few shots from a while back. I've read that the smoke stack with a valve on it mid way on the smoker will get the smoke and heat rolling?
Here's the pics. The stack would be really long (6 or 7 foot at 6 inches)which I hear makes a good draw too?..
Thought we had a few welders and BBQ enthusiast on the forum? _________________ "Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught." |

Chef I may try that. That sounds interesting, maybe place a short damper on the very top. Would that help draw the smoke and heat more? _________________ "Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught." |
