|
|
I need someone who can get a 25hp Yamaha motor to freakin crank. First the rope broke on it, fixed that. Then for some reason the whole motor froze, I fixed that! Now we have figured out that the gas isn't getting through the carb. It will fire up when we pour gas into the block and burn off what we put in but then will die out.
I don't want to break the bank here, but I am frustrated and just need some help. Hopefully trying to get it running by Saturday. I will pay!!! _________________ Bad fisherman blame their bait, or the lack there of. |

What do you mean by " the motor froze"?
You really need to do a right carb job. Leaning out a motor will leave you stranded and with a burnt up motor.
New fuel lines, new primer bulb, carb kit, check fuel pump, fresh gas and good oil.
If it don't run right, don't run it.
You can do all that stuff for about $100 |

Been down that road. Used to carry a syringe just to pump fuel into the cylinders to start up some of the 25's and 35's I used to run. It was finally determined to be blown head gaskets, thus a lack of compression to idle properly or start normally. The 2 cylinders used to burn a steam/overheat hole between the cylinders through the water jacket lines thus blowing the head gasket. Just a thought. Don't give up. _________________ Protect Padre at all costs for future generations to use and enjoy and never forget our freedoms aren't free.

If it is just a clogged issue and not a head gasket problem, fill carbs with pure sea foam.
Also, remove spark plugs and put seam foam in there. Be generous with sea foam. One can of it will accommodate three cylinder engine with ease.
Allow it to sit overnight. Next day, with plugs out, turn your motor over to blow out a lot of the seam foam. Put plugs back in, and with fresh gas, start engine and let it run 10 to 15 minutes. Mind you, it will smoke like crazy (good for mosquitos but not many around right now).
I have done this several times and it has always helped in a tremendous way.
The secret here is giving it time.
This may not help for Saturday unless it is later in the day you are wanting to go out.
For $10.00, it is worth a try and will help no matter what the problem is. |
