Please do not bite my head off, as I am only asking one question! I have seen people talking about hunting the backside of Mustang, as well as people building their own blinds in the bay. Now this land that people hunt, do you have to have a public land permit via TPWD? If anyone could send me a link to the special rules/regulations about this area, it would be greatly appreciated because I've been unable to locate it on the TPWD website. Again, in no way am I asking for anyone's spot, (I should be able to find the birds Wink ) I was just curious about the laws on this land. Thanks,
Zack

Walk in and hunt. You need your hip cert, license and stamps. Get there early and be prepared to deal with people walking in on you, very high probability of getting checked and from what I have been told one tuff walk. You will also witness some remarkable sky busting. But that is just part of duck hunting now...... Thanks Phil

make sure you avoid hunting in the Mustang Island State Park (its illegal)....

that being said, you can hunt behind the church on the island (Kates hole, just north of Mollie Beattie) and of course Shamrock....

plenty of spots to hunt, good luck out there....

A few years back I may have taken a few deer out there and talked to a TPWD warden before doing so. They said it was a gray area but it was ok. One day I was hunting and 4 wardens ran me off. Not sure why but I was just happy to comply and not get arrested as they made me think I was doing something very illegal.... Not trying to scare you only telling you my experience.
