So I'm thinking about purchasing either the Taurus Judge or S&W Governor for my dad for Christmas. Not to be used as a concealed gun, more of just for fun. Does anybody have any experience with these? Haven't really decided between the 3" or 6".

| S&W is without question a better brand than Taurus regardless of the caliber/model, etc. Also, will hold its value better. |

I've shot both and couldn't agree more with that statement. _________________ "I never had an Easter, but I've always had a bunch of speakers" - Beardo |

THe S&W has better features in my opinion. For one its a six cylinder vs the judge's 5. It has a better grip, and also comes with moon clips that allow you to shoot .45acp as well so with the Governor you get .45longcolt/.410/.45acp with th ejudge you can only shoot .45longcolt/.410 _________________ Work is for people who dont know how to fish! |

| Handguns and "fun" on a fishing forum??? Give decent people a break!!! You are on he wrong forum my friend. Let's keep the board dedicated to fishing for fish and not trying to impress fun seekers. Let's talk about the great haul of reds I had last evening in spite of the high tides. |

Much appreciated guys! I've had some not-so-great experiences with Taurus' handguns in the past, but I was just hoping that the Judge could be a different story. Based on what ya'll say, I guess not lol. Gonna go check the S&W this weekend. _________________ -Pat |

S & W Governor is by far superior to the Taurus Judge. The circuit judge is a whole different animal and is more fun than both the others but it is not a handgun.
I thought the Judge was fun until I shot the Governor and IMO there is not comparison! _________________ Wishin I was fishin!

| Taurus is a cheaper way to go but I got excellent cust. svc when it came to the lifetime warranty. However I did have to send it back which I have not done with any of my smiths. My .02 |
