Finished my work early and decided to spend the last hour of daylight on the water. The Water clarity was killer. 5' and I could make out flounder beds in the sand pockets. Went straight to the deep water and started throwing a slow suspending lure. 6' of water, it took 3 seconds for the lure to fall 5' so every 3 seconds I would give it a subtle twitch and slowly slowly reel in.

Also threw a new topwater/subtwitch from unfair, won it in that tournament so I figured what the heck. It sits on top and slowly sinks to about a foot in 6 seconds. I would cast count to 6 twitch and let it sink again. You could feel the thump as they would take it on the pause.

Ran off a dozen trout, all keepers, on my short time on the water. Didnt see a single soul out there...too cold for yall?

Oh yea they were pretty fiesty today. It was almost as if they didn't want to be caught!

Do you keep a log or tally of what you catch each year? I bet it would be amazing to see that tally!!!!!! Laughing

I sure enjoy your reports!

I plan to be out there amigo! In that darn light blue manta ray haha.

I know I have over 3500 Black drum in the past 3 years and 200+ trout with all but 4 of those from '12 and '13. Only about 350 redfish with about 250 from '11.

I dont keep a log of every single trip but only the ones where I remember to write it down. Next year will be different and ill have #'s haha
