I was kayaking a bait out yesterday when I got rolled By a wave and somehow got the 20/0 circle hook stuck in my neck! Drive from the 45 all the way back in, had the coast guard land in front of me on my way off the beach trying to get me to ride with them but I didn't want to leave my gear OR scare the poo poo out of Tiffany with that call! Rushed to the hospital and was IMMEDIATLY taken to the back and surrounded by 20+ people with some wide eyes! After several tests it was revealed that the hook missed one of my major arteries by 2cm! I'm a lucky man! Glad I get to see my baby girl grow up because I'm not going to lie, there were several moments yesterday that I thought I was not going to make it! Will post some pics up later! Hopefully they will let me out of the hospital today! Much appreciation to my team down there.... They swam out to me and pretty much rescued me!!

Glad you are ok....Just goes to show how little things can go south in the blink of an eye...I will definitely put a cork or something on the hook when I go out. Hope you are well enough to possibly go back to the team..

May go out there Sunday for the raffle/results but they just let me out of ICU and into a regular room!

Wow Bama, glad to hear you are OK. Hope you heal up real soon.

The cork idea sound doable. That, or maybe some plastic tubing.

I always thought getting a hook in my finger was bad. What you had was bound to be very painful along with being very scary. I'm so glad everything worked out in the end.

Man you are one lucky son of a gun. Sounds like you won the Tourny and didnt even land a fish.
