I got a Browning gold hunter in a high gloss wood and a high gloss barrel. It's got no scratches or blemishes. A guy at work said it's worth a pretty penny but I'm not to familiar with browning. I need some corpus fishing experts on this topic.

You see them on sale ranging from 500-1,200.00 depends on the specific model condition, etc. From the sound of it yours should be on the high side. But the true value of a gun is what someone is willing to pay for it.

I've got a gun value book, it says the Browning Gold Classic Hunter, High Grade Model (silvered, gold engraved receiver, and high grade wood) is $1575 (Perfect) or $1250 (Excellent).

It is MUCH less without the high grade model additions ($550-$780).

Check the serial number it will tell you exactly the model of gold hunter. With the gold inlay it is probably a thousnd dollar gun. The salt marsh is going to hurt the value as it will rust.
