Fished around the rocks and in the Land Cut with Skipper today. We caught a decent amount of fish with 8 keeper trout. The water is still low but we did see some boats back in 9 mile hole. Most of the fish came on topwaters. One caught Skipper in the finger and he had to push the barb through and have me cut the barb off . Fortunately he had some big crimping pliers on board. No redfish today. We did see two or three big trout 5lb plus in about 12 to 24 inches of water in the middle of the day on one of the flats north of the Land Cut. I was surprised to see them that skinny during the heat of the day.
The elbow held up and it was a lot of fun. Thanks Skipper!

You're welcome Tray. When I get some more days off we'll do it again... Adios.
BTW the finger feels pretty good.

Great report.
I love fishing with hard plastics but all those hooks become dangerous when handling the fish. I caught a trout on a mirrolure one time that hooked me in the finger while landing it. Before I could figure out my next step the fish thrashed around and slipped out of my hand. Then began flopping around until the hook tore right out of my finger. Quick release for him. |

Skipper had on a spook jr. I thought about pics but was more concerned with cutting the barb off with the pliers. It was funny he had a scratch on his other finger that was bothering him more _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

| Good report...was the water pretty clear in that area Tyer...looks like a murky green in your pic, but I know that may not be indicative of what y'all saw. |
