I have experienced premium creep the past couple of years. No claims. Shopped one of the larger carriers and the premium was very comparable. Confused

Can anyone suggest a solid carrier I may shop? Also, any feedback on customer service would also be appreciated.

Cheers!

Thanks EK and ST. Researching both of these companies. So far they are asking way more (and better) questions than the big outfits have asked. Also seeing at least a 35% lower premium (BoatUS) for comparable insurance.

BoatUS membership required, but only $24/yr. Will make that up with discounts, etc. they offer.

I use Progressive as well. Full coverage plus contents and towing. Very reasonable and good service.

Progressive is the joint giving me premium creep on a depreciating boat, with no claims filed. Went with BoatUS. Saved about 35%.

Although I do use Progressive for HO and Autos.

Thanks All. Very Happy

I just have mine with State Farm along with all my other insurance. I have been with them for over 30 years and they have never pissed me off. They have always been there when I needed them.

May not matter to you and that's fine. But for those to whom it does matter - just sayin!!

X2. even if they have better rates, I can't willingly support a company like that.

I use anchor marine. They seem pretty good, although my rates went WAY up when I moved from houston to corpus last year.

Go to their website and check out USAA, they have really opened their doors to new customers in the last couple of years, added lots of new categories of people eligible to get ins from them.

Great conservative military based company that treats it's customers right and won't spend your money on liberal agenda's.

IMS, you probably qualify for USAA now, you ought to check it out. They have the best rates around.

I might be wrong, but I think progressive issues the actual policy for USAA for boating insurance. that may be with something else... I know that several years back, I had insurance from USAA, and the policy came on progressive documentation. That was proabbly 10 years ago or so though, perhaps it's changed. I never could figure out why USAA would farm out their policies to anyone else.

Don't have boat insurance so don't know, but I assure you I will be calling USAA administrative offices to find out. And if so I will be talking to their consumer relations dept about why they would involve such a liberal organization with their conservative military background.
