Gold/black jointed Redfin...because it always does the work for me. Very Happy

Yes, it technically dives, but I frequently fish it with short quick retrieves, letting it rise to the surface in between.

Here's some of my top waters I pick from. Going from loud & noisy at the top, small and not as loud towards the bottom (floating fatboy missing though!). Notice the colors are a bit vibrant due to brown tide. I tend to like foil wrap on most my topwaters. Rig them with loop knots with 30 lbs mono spliced to my braid.

But my all time favorite...Super Spook Jr. in pink head / whiteish-clear-foilish body. It's produced specks up to 6 lbs for me so far.

What do you mean by the foil wraps?

I guess its from my bass fishing days but I prefer chug bugs. I change out the hooks to something that will withstand the salt. I also tie on larger rear hook feathers after the stock ones fall off. I love them and have good luck on them with specs all the time.

What I consider foil wrap would be for example a Skitter walk- pink on bottom and top and silver foil on sides. Or a super spook with a head with white belly / back and a white/hatched foil wrap on sides. Or a pink head ss jr. with red head, white/silver foil insert. Some even have most of the body with a chrome finish, like a blue/chrome shedog (CRBL or black - CRBK). Some sort of gold/silver 'foil' finish on the sides of the lure is what I call foil wrap.

I like the CRCH Mirrolure She Dog in the surf. And I love those spook jr's in bone and the white with the pink head. But my childhood favorites would be the chugger, jitterbug and even the Hula Popper from Bass fishing Smile

SKITTERWALKER trout pattern, and the Mirrowlure firetiger which is the 4th one down on baygrinder's pic. That particular lure caught a 29 1/2 incher. My biggest trout was caught on a bull minnow plastic 30 inches. I just can't get over the 30 inch mark. Very Happy

Red/white Mirrolure. Wink

I wish I still had my stash of older Mirrolures, they just had a different feel to them on the retrieve.
