Very disheartening to get up early, lower the boat, and (this is where you may need to change the channel).....wow, ground dove!!
Did everything that a roll of duct tape could accomplish, but fail.
My progress this evening....
Gently relocated the nest after removing the main lift motor housing
Used chicken wire to prevent this from happening again.....after a spring cleaning of feathers, dust, and such.
These future bacon-wrapped-dove-bites looking for their next meal...
As I Said, humanitarian, not vegetarian.

I would have done the same thing. And my friends know it. Good show. The birds and other small creatures have been having a tough time. I go through almost 40lbs of seed a week, plus 2 sacks of carrots for the bunnies. There hasn't been enough rain to produce seed . Oranges for the woodpeckers, and peanuts for my nutty friends with tails.

He got out and never came back. I let him out many times and he always came back. I think something got him.

| Bummer. I always thought it was a cool story, some random chukar inexplicably showing up at the casa... But, such is life as part of the food chain I guess. |
